Membership Information

If you are interested in the possibility of becoming a member of Three Springs, after checking out our website, please go to the
Contact Three Springs page, fill out the boxes and write us a letter of introduction in the message box. Please include information about why you are looking for community, what has been your experience living in community, what are your interests and values, how do you make a living, etc. This is our first step in getting to know you and vice-versa. After that, if we feel we would like to get to know you better, we will email you a questionnaire or invite you to visit.

Thank you for your interest in Three Springs and the communities movement.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!

New Member

We are currently open to new members. We are looking for people who are down-to-earth folks with the focus and dedication of building community, who are financially responsible and emotionally stable.
We have found that skills in interpersonal growth and healthy communication are essential in resolving conflict, maintaining harmony and reaching our potential as a group. We are looking for like-minded individuals, who are willing to take responsibility for their own lives.

At Three Springs we continue to work on interpersonal issues as we learn and evolve as individuals and as a community. It is important to us to consider the needs of others and the community as a whole in all our decision-making. We also want members who are willing to look at their own feelings, say what they want and need, what they like and don't like and what they ideally would like to change.

There are aspects of living at Three Springs that we believe are important for you to understand if you want to consider joining us.

North Fork is a small rural town where employment requires creativity. Many people who move to this area do find work in the tourism industry due to the natural beauty of the area and the proximity to Yosemite National Park. Work can be found in North Fork - 5 miles away, or in Oakhurst - 17 miles away or in Fresno - 45 miles away.

The financial responsibilites per month are $400 for rent (new member fee) and approximately $200 for food and utilities.

The other aspect is housing. Presently, we have temporary housing to offer.

Full Member

After living at Three Springs for one year, the new member has the opportunity to become a full member. It is important that he/she has the resources to build and/or create a more permanent housing situation for him/herself, as we do not have the ability to provide long-term individual private space. Although Three Springs does not have a large buy-in fee, after becoming a full member, there is an additional investment of $100 minimum per month and personal housing costs to consider.

With more responsibilities comes full rights to participate in all the decisions concerning the community and land. A full member of Three Springs becomes one of the directors of our non-profit and, therefore, is able to live here and steward the land for as long as he/she desires. The only reason someone would be asked to leave would be if he/she posed a serious mental or physical threat to the community.
