Welcome to our Garden. We are a new enterprise here at the Three Springs Community. Over the last two years, our three-plus acre garden has been developed into an organic flower, vegetable and native plant business. Originally, this land was cultivated as an organic CSA vegetable garden for seven years. Though the land has not been officially certified, our practices are within the guidelines and we look forward to certification in the near future.
We are excited to be growing flowers because of the reverential beauty the flowers bring to our home landscapes,
to our customers lives and beyond. There is something about flowers that just exudes happiness. In a short time, we have had an overwhelming response to our garden subscriptions and local retail sales. Our next vision is to expand our sales to include local farmers markets, restaurants, florists and catered events.
A percentage of the vegetables and all the fruit, that is grown is for the Three Springs Community residents. This adds to our group vision of becoming more sustainable and self supportive. It is a fun time to work together in the garden with apprentices and community members, especially the children! We are also establishing a culinary and medicinal herb garden. We have plans to raise chickens for eggs and manure, and goats for packing and fire fuel reduction.
The garden has become a central place for camaraderie, learning, laughter, music, cultural exchange, idea sharing, creativity, Earth education, fresh air, team work, exercise, witnessing Nature, art projects and more.
We have been welcoming many volunteers and apprentices to learn how to organically farm, use the land sustainably and live
in a communal environment. The worldwide web has linked us to the official volunteer sites of WWOOF and Organic Volunteers. Already we have welcomed folks from Nebraska, New York, Germany, Florida, Massachusetts, Colorado, Minnesota and New Jersey, with new applicants scheduled throughout the year.
